PFA Centenary Vote Result
OVER the last two weeks you have been voting in your hundreds for the player you feel best deserves to go into the PFA Centenary Hall of Fame.
In the end it came down to a straight race between club president Arfon Griffiths and coach Joey Jones.
After the lead changed hands a couple of times Joey Jones emerged as your nomination, collecting just over a third of the votes cast.
Arfon finished with 28%, while Gary Bennett pipped Mickey Thomas for third place and 1930's goalscoring legend Tommy Bamford was voted into fifth spot.
"Just to be mentioned in the same breath as some of these Wrexham greats is an honour," said Joey on hearing the outcome.
"I voted for Arfon and felt he should have won, but I do thank everyone who voted for the pair of us."
The PFA is celebrating its 100th birthday this year and as such has asked fans at every one of the 100 professional clubs to have played League football to vote for a player to be included,
Thank you to everyone who took part.
