Just In Case
EAGLE-eyed readers might have noticed that if both Hereford United and Barnet win their FA Cup replays against Tranmere Rovers and Swindon Town respectively, then both ourselves and Bradford City would have another free Saturday at the end of this month.
To try and ease the fixture list a little, we have agreed with the Bantams that should this particular scenario play out, then we will bring forward our Tuesday, 12 February meeting at the Racecourse to Saturday, 26 January (3.00).
Barnet face Swindon at Underhill next Tuesday evening and then Hereford take on Tranmere at Edgar Street the following night.
The postponement of last night's two FAW Premier quarter-final ties - Welshpool v Cardiff City and Carmarthen v TNS - might well also cause further problems, as the winners of our game against Llanelli was due to be at home to the winners of the Carmarthen v TNS match-up on Tuesday, 22 January.
The two teams are hoping to try again next Tuesday evening (15 January).
At Welshpool, the centre of the pitch had a number of areas of standing water, particularly towards the bottom end of the ground, rendering it quite unplayable. While Richmond Park it was also raining heavily with little hope of a "let up", making the Carmarthen Town pitch sodden.
