DREWE Broughton made a strong debut up front against Bradford City and is happy to add his efforts to the Wrexham cause.

"I was very glad to sign for Wrexham. I was desperate to play some games and I also wanted to help out a good team, which is what I think this Wrexham side is.

"There are some really good players here and I was glad to get my teeth into my first game. I've been coming on a lot as a substitute in the last twenty minutes for the Dons, so it was nice to get ninety minutes, although I was feeling it a bit afterwards!

"I was at The Racecourse for the MK Dons game, but I wasn't on the bench for the first time in a while which was disappointing.

"It doesn't bother me at all to go to a club that is at the bottom of the table. I've been down here before and I know it's not a reflection of how good the players are or how good the team is; it's just a reflection of their confidence.

"It's good to be working with a good bunch of lads and with a new manager. Hopefully, I can add a bit of weight up front and a bit of power up there and chip in with a few goals.

"I came close a couple of times today and when I get sharper and get a few more games under my belt, I'll be firing."

So what of the Wrexham goal? Did Neil Roberts' shot do enough to get over the line on its own, or did someone help it on it's way?

"A few players tried to bundle it over the line, but no-one's trying to take it from Neil! It was a good strike from him and it was an important one."
