WREXHAM skipper Neil Roberts has turned his ankle in training and looks likely to be sidelined for a week or two.

"I did out on the pitches at Colliers Park," he said.

"All I did was turn sharply and I felt it go from under me.

"Mel Pejic took me for an x-ray and the good news is that there is no serious damage.

"Having said that, I hate missing any games and I might now find myself out of action for a short time."

Manager Brian Little might well turn to Jeff Whitley to step up for his first start since returning to the club in mid-January.

The ex-Cardiff City midfielder has been working hard at his fitness for the last month and is ready to take on the role.
