FOLLOWING the selection of our game at York City to be televised to live by Setanta Sports on Thursday, 14 August, we asked the Board of the Football Conference to consider a request for our next game at Rushden & Diamonds to be put back a day from Saturday, 16 to Sunday 17 August.

After a Board meeting of the Conference directors, it was decided to accept our request and rule that the match will now be played at Nene Park on Sunday 17 August at 3.00pm or a kick-off time mutually agreed by both clubs.

Our argument was that as there is less than 41.5 hours between one game ending and the next starting, it was unfair to expect the team to also travel home from York and then out to Rushden - another 5 hours of coach travel - in what was already a very limited time period.

We were always happy to travel to York on the Thursday evening as requested, to fulfil our television obligations, but in doing so, felt it was then wrong to penalise us or another team in the future, by making us play a second away game in such a short space of time.
