Captain Kearney
FOLLOWING his wearing of the armband at Stafford Rangers last weekend, Brian Little has confirmed that Tom Kearney will be club captain for the new season.
And the manager sees the former Bradford City & Halifax Town midfielder as an excellent choice with good leadership qualities.
"Tom is a great choice as he knows this league, is experienced and has also played in the Football League," said the boss.
"There are many things on his shoulders but I'm sure he will prove to be a great link between referee and the rest of the team.
"While Tom will be wearing the arm band, I also think it's important that other members of the team step forward and also take on their fair share of responsibilities - I don't want it being left to just one person.
"To be fair, I feel there were a number of candidates for the role, which is good for the team."
