IN another step in securing the future, manager Denis Smith has been in talks with three of the club's promising young professionals to extend their present contracts.

Following negotiations we are delighted to announce that Mike Williams, Matty Done and Michael Jones have all put pen to paper on new deals with the club.

Defender and U21 international Williams has agreed a new two and half year contract, while both Done and Jones have extended their stays for another 18 months.

"Too often in the recent past we have been unable to begin talks with players and then seen them walk away when their contracts have expired," said Denis.

"Now things are changing back, I have more scope to sit down and chat with the players about their futures.

"First on my list has been talking to Mike, Matty and Michael, and I'm delighted that they have shown a commitment to the club."

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Mike Williams expressed his pleasure at the move:

"I have been pushing into the first team recently and now this secures my future.

"I am very happy to get things sorted out as I can now concentrate on my football.

"We have been talking for a little while, so to get the paperwork signed is a good and I'm just looking forward to playing for the club over the next few years."
