Looking Good
HAPPILY the weather forecast seems to have been proved right and the Reds woke up at the Huntingdon hotel to see green fields and no sign of any snow just 20 miles south of Peterborough.
The players had left Wrexham in a heavy snow storm on Friday evening and the coach driver decided to head along the M56, A50 and M1 rather than risk the snow covered roads through Shropshire and the West Midlands.
It proved to be a wise decision and while it took the party some 3.5 hours to arrive at the Cambridgeshire base, at least the journey was steady and made without incident.
It was until we passed Kettering that the snow started to stop falling and green rather white became the predominant colour in the surrounding countryside.
The forecast is for more rain towards kick-off, but temperatures will continue to rise.
