WREXHAM have to recover from yet another defeat as they prepare to take on Accrington Stanley this evening (7.45).

In contrast, Accrington Stanley are full of confidence after an excellent result in midweek away to Bradford City. Goals from Roscoe D'Sane (2) and Andrew Proctor made the difference, in a performance that left manager John Coleman full of praise for his team. He stated: "In nine years as a manager, that was the most complete performance any of my sides has put in."

However, victory came at a cost for Coleman's team, as goalkeeper Kenny Arthur suffered a broken leg midway through the first half. Ian Dunbavin came in to deputise and is likely to continue in goal for the visit of the Dragons.

Stanley currently lie in 12th position in League Two, gaining 12 points from their nine games. They have not drawn a game thus far, winning four games and losing five. Paul Mullin is top scorer at this early stage, having found the net five times in the league.

Brian Carey will have options available to him for Friday night's fixture. Michael Proctor returns from suspension, and could be joined in the line-up by Eifion Williams and Silvio Spann who have recovered from injury.

Marc Williams is the only casualty from the midweek game, the young striker missing out after picking up a groin injury. The Dragons will have to find another source of goals if they are to gain anything from this game - Carey's side have scored two goals in the last seven games, both scored by Marc!

Last Time Out

It is just over a year since the Dragons' last visit to the Fraser Eagle Stadium and fans will hope for a much better performance this time around. After starting the season with an impressive seven-match unbeaten run, Wrexham went down to an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to the previous season's Conference champions. Goals from Mullin, Craney, Cavanagh and Roberts (2) did the damage on a night to forget for the travelling supporters.

Things did not get much better on New Year's Day when Stanley visited the Racecourse. After going 1-0 down after Paul Mullin's goal, Wrexham hit back as Josh Johnson equalised on the stroke of half time. However, two late goals from David Brown meant the visitors took the points with a 3-1 win.
