Match Preview - Grimsby Town
THINGS do not get any easier for Brian Little's side as WREXHAM travel to Blundell Park to take on in-form Grimsby Town.
The Dragons slumped to another demoralising defeat in midweek, as Llanelli triumphed 4-2 after extra time in the FAW Premier Cup. The match saw 'keeper Gavin Ward and central defender Phil Bolland making their debuts, but the problems in defence continued as Llanelli fought back from a 2-0 deficit.
It's back to League Two action this weekend however as Wrexham look to end a run of six successive league defeats.
Grimsby Town will fancy their chances against the league's bottom club, as Alan Buckley's side look to continue their excellent recent form.
The Mariners defeated Stockport County 2-1 in midweek and reached the northern area final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, where they will face Morecambe.
This victory made it four wins on the trot, after wins against Lincoln City, Chester City and Chesterfield in League Two.
This run has moved them away from danger, as they currently lie in 15th position in the league, 15 points clear of the Dragons.
Top scorer for the Mariners this season is forward Danny North, who has found the net five times in all competitions. The goals have been spread around the Grimsby side, with Danny Boshell, Gary Jones, Ciaran Toner and Paul Bolland chipping in with four goals each.
Brian Little will be forced into at least one change for this game with Chris Llewellyn missing out through suspension.
Last Time Out
Wrexham went down 2-1 on their last visit to Blundell Park, as Ciaran Toner scored a last minute winner to steal the points. Lee McEvilly had given the Dragons an early lead before Paul Bolland equalised on the stroke of half time.
