Match Preview - Chester City
WREXHAM make the short trip over the border on Sunday when they face local rivals Chester City (12.00pm).
The Dragons remain six points from safety following the 1-1 draw at home to Mansfield Town last week. Although we still have some crucial games-in-hand on our rivals, the Dragons will have to get back to winning ways quickly after a run of four games without victory.
Our rivals Chester City have also been struggling of late. Bobby Williamson was sacked at the beginning of the month following a run of one win in fourteen games.
Youth team coach Simon Davies has taken temporary charge of the club, who currently lie in 17th position in League Two, ten points ahead of Mansfield Town in 23rd spot.
City were unable to improve on results after Williamson's departure, going down 1-0 away to Darlington in midweek. Pawel Abbott's first half goal proved to be enough for the hosts, though Kevin Ellison and Kevin Sandwith went close for City.
City will be without defender Simon Marples and striker Nathan Lowndes, the latter suffering from a back problem.
Danny Sonner may recover from an achilles injury for the Dragons, but Neil Roberts and Steve Evans are struggling with ankle and knee problems respectively.
Last Time Out
The clubs fought out a 2-2 draw when they faced each other at the Racecourse back in November. Kevin Roberts opened the scoring for City, but Michael Proctor levelled matters ten minutes later.
Paul Linwood's header restored the away side's advantage just before the break, but Proctor again levelled for the Dragons when he volleyed in Matty Done's cross.
