Although he has been at the club for a number of seasons, working his way up through the Academy and then a two-year Scholarship, right sided defender Wes has slipped under the radar with many supporters.
A first-year professional, he had to wait until Brian Little's first game in charge before being given his debut against Chester City in November 2007.
Wes has continued to make steady progress since being offered a full-time contract by Brian Carey in the summer of 2007, with some decent displays in the reserves, playing either in defence or sometimes in midfield.
His display in the local derby against Chester suddenly thrust him into the spotlight and the youngster coped admirably in front of over 7,000 fans to give a display that might well have won him the Man-of-the-Match on another day.
