THE harsh consequences of the capitulation at Shrewsbury Town were frankly expanded upon by Brian Little after the game.

"We've said so much on so many occasions, but this really has to be the last of the talking," said the boss.

"We look for the players to do the talking on the field, but the talking today was poor.  The first goal again was one of the worst goals I've seen for some time, closely followed by the second one, which was just a cross into the box.

"Every week it's someone different.

"One week one of the centre backs will make a mistake, then a full back might make a mistake, then a midfielder might make a foul on the edge of the box, the goalkeeper might occasionally and then we miss something at the other end.

"There isn't a single individual that you could miss out of saying he has made a mistake somewhere along the way, including myself.

"It's a very difficult sort of battle. When I look at the club it's good because it's been saved by two people who have the good of the club at heart, but on the pitch it isn't so good.

"They're a good bunch of lads, they're honest at heart, but today they lost heart. That was the big thing which shone through.

"We almost ran out of words in the dressing room after the game today, because it's no longer time for words, it's time for actions.

"A great hero, Joey Jones, came into the changing room after game and says the things he said to them - and he was right to say them, I was delighted he said them. He wasn't very complimentary to the players. but it was the truth.

"It's a sad day and it's a bad day.

"We're virtually down now and the players really didn't do themselves justice, individually or collectively. There were a few of them who went into their shell when the first goal went in.

"They've let themselves down today, which is disappointing, as individually I've a lot of time for them, but it's my job now to sort the team out.

"Years of losing games for this club is not enjoyable. I've just had a few months of it and I've not enjoyed it. It's been horrible.

"I think the last 20 minutes today were genuinely the worst 20 minutes of my career.

"Standing there on the sidelines, looking at your team knowing they're not going to get anything out of it and the chances are you're relegated out of the Football League - that is probably the worst 20 minutes of my career.

"I've got a great bunch of lads but now I've got to be very ruthless, to sort things out. I have to make this club back into one that knows how to win, that will make the fans enjoy coming.

"We've got a group of fans who have come here today hoping to see their team give it a real go. It just hasn't happened. Which is a major disappointment to us all."
