SUPPORTERS are continuing to show their backing for the club as we approach the new season and the latest show of faith has come from the Buckley Reds.

One of several active Supporters Clubs that the football club is fortunate enough to have, they have continued to do sterling work on behalf of the club.

Buckley Reds chairman Bryn Jones said: "Our members decided to not only donate the £240 we raised at a recent fundraiser, but to round it up to £500 towards the balls for the youth teams."

Director Geoff Moss was delighted with this news: "I would like to personally thank the Buckley Reds for their very generous donation to the cause and have asked Bryn to please convey to his members how appreciative myself, Steve Cooper and his team are for this help.

"Last Saturday, we had seven players in the second half who had come through our youth system and we have continued to make massive strides over the last year. Something which has been recognised by the Football League and they have stated publicly that we are an outstanding example of good practice.

"Steve and I are fighting like mad to ensure that we keep everything going at the right level, as we have some amazing kids coming through over the next couple of years, some of whom are already attracting attention from the big clubs.

"We currently have the three Youth team captains of differing Wales age groups, something of which we are immensely proud.

"We also now have recruitment centres in Aberystwyth, Bangor and Rhyl and run weekly coaching sessions, all of which is self funding.

"There is a need to raise £83k, which by hook or by crook we will do, so generous donations like this are a big boost to the lads.

"It's nice to know there are people out there who really care for the kids - the WSA have also been very kind with a donation and the Former Players Association are running a dinner to helps raise funds for us."
